NPR’s Monkey See blog recently published an interview with Ken Burns, discussing the documentarian’s latest endeavor, The Tenth Inning.

The interview itself is grand, but one particular piece of it, somewhere in the middle, was of particular interest:

Interviewer: I was just reading The Baseball Codes –

Burns: Right, oh, isn’t that great?

Interviewer: —which I absolutely loved.

Burns: I loved that.

Bring on the weekend and the playoffs. I’m pretty well good to go.

Official Scorers Need Love, Too

Any coverage is nice, but did AP have to wait until the last sentence of the story?

Still, one can hardly fault somebody for giving us attention: “Michael Duca, co-author of the just-released book ‘The Baseball Codes’ is an official scorer for the A’s.”

Take that, official scorers with no books.
